Work carried out
The first week was one of extreme frustration as the car simply refused to start - by hand.
Finally after 8 days, I bit the bullet and had it tow started and immediately started driving it. I did 11 miles and the car started running better and better.
The next day, I went into the garage and addressed the sulking heap as it was just sitting there taunting me. Speaking quite clearly so that it would understand I stated "Start you b?stard, else you are off to Brightwells auction in November."
I sat in car, primed it, and pulled the handle and it started on the second pull with out any hesitation. I drove it some more and it continues to improve.
I was informed by Bruce Young and partner that the secret to starting the Trojan is how you turn it off. Put fuel to rich position, floor the throttle and turn ignition off. Crankcase will now be filled with fuel ready for next starting procedure.
Indeed it has been reliably starting ever since, cold, warm, hot, makes no difference, it starts!
I did change both the sparking plugs for new ones.
I am considering installing a dynastart.
