Window was broken accidently by a falling G clamp while trying to glue up a loose bit of fabric at the top of the door. The window was wound down into the door but the clamp just caught it. Clearly the glass is not safety glass.

The small pip is moved towards the knob to release the handle from the shaft. Using the aid of something suitable.

This would be the something suitable.

Maybe one for the concours points. RK saloons usually have a bicycle chain arrangement for raising and lowering the window.
